Picture of mountains during fall

Never in a million years did I think I would utilize a search engine that isn’t Google, but here we are.

TL;DR I will be using DuckDuckGo.

One would think creating a functional search engine, in which I search for something and receive relevant results, would be easy. However, something about not giving you 8 lines of ads and irrelevant links at the top of the page has eluded most companies. Except for Google. Google has always been the superior search engine, because in general it gives me what I want. We even use “search” and “Google” interchangeably in everyday language. That’s how strong Google’s reign has been.

Until Google (along with everyone other tech company) decided to force AI on us.

We don’t want AI. We are not stupid. We, the People, are well-aware AI is being pushed because (despite the billions these companies are making) they are trying to cut corners even more and maximize profits even more than usual. Rather than hire artists, they use AI art. Rather than hire writers, they use AI. From Copilot, to Gemini, to Meta, to whatever – I will not be using it/uninstalling AI wherever I can, on everything I can.

However, one thing I am unable to avoid are those stupid AI summaries at the top of every Google search. It’s bad enough I’m seeing these stupid summaries everywhere else (even AllTrails!), why must I be forced to see them at the top of every search I make?

Literally nothing is stopping me from moving on so I will be using DuckDuckGo from now on for the same reason I refuse to own any Apple products, and tell my friends to their faces they are clowns for owning an iPhone and that I’m better than them for having an Android.

Sheer principle. Objectively, nothing makes Apple any worse than Samsung and DuckDuckGo is likely selling my searches to the FBI/Temu/Shein. However, it’s not about the ethics of these companies (or lack thereof, because all these companies suck). It’s simply about spreading as much Apple hate around as possible for the sake of being a certified Apple hater. Likewise, I will begin judging my friends for using Google and allowing themselves to be subject to AI summaries like sheep (jk).

Anyway, shout out to Bing, DuckDuckGo, and even Yahoo. You can expect to see an influx of searches on aviation disasters soon, and these will all be from me.
